A little history…
For over 25 years DJ Gary Carter has been supplying high quality mobile disco entertainment for hundreds of weddings throughout Exeter, Devon and the surrounding counties.
The majority of our wedding customers choose to book our services as they have already been to one of our performances, or because we have come highly recommended by a friend or venue.
Setting the scene…
Generally we’ll start the evening with gentle lighting and soft music to build a warm and inviting atmosphere while you welcome your guests as they arrive.
During this time we discreetly observe our audience to monitor their responses to help choose the music and pick the right time to really get your party started.
Most couples entrust us to use our skill and years of experience to select a variety of great music suitable for their wedding disco.
Ensuring we play something for everyone, we vary the style and pace of the music throughout the evening.
The music we chose will be influenced primarily by the response we see on the dance floor. But also from music requests we receive from you and your guests on the night.

We usually have the entire top 40 and will make every effort to obtain any music you request should we not already own it.
Where possible, all our music is in a lossless format such as FLAC which simply sounds better!
If you would like more input into the music played during your wedding disco, simply send us a list of music you would like.
We will incorporate your chosen music into your evening.
Couples usually include 1 or 2 of these:
- Your 1st dance music
- Father & bride dance
- Stag & hen memorable music
- Requests from your guests
- Your favourite music
- General music guidelines
When creating your list please keep in mind the music you like to listen to at home may not be so good for people to dance to on the night.
High quality touring and theatre grade sound equipment will be used. In terms of music power we provide up to a true 4.2kW system. That equals clean crisp sound with plenty of volume if needed.
DJ Gary Carter, our highly experienced wedding DJ has performed at hundreds of weddings. Always polite, professional, reliable and dressed appropriately smart too.
Lighting & Effects
We’ll supply a range of professional disco lighting effects and colour wash lighting to best suit your venue.
Lighting is computer controlled which enables us to switch scenes on demand. Slow movement and colour changing during slow dances, for example.
Effects such as strobes, stage blinders, 3D colour lasers and smoke can also be included where needed. Venue restrictions may apply on some effects.
All our wedding discos include a 2 hour setup period immediately prior to the disco (or background music) start time.
However, we are very flexible. If you prefer, we can setup while you are at the church, or at a time that is more convenient for you. If there is no room for an early setup, we will work closely with venue staff to ensure a quick room turnaround for the evening.
Soft music playing in the background is a great way to keep a good atmosphere for you and your guests to enjoy before the evening entertainment starts.

Bubbles look great during your first dance and they help keep any children entertained too!
Often parties can be more successful than you expect, with guests still going strong at the end of the night.
For this reason we are usually able to offer our disco continuation service. The rate and amount of time can be agreed with us on the night. This service is subject to licensing laws and will require the approval of the venue owner or management.
A high quality radio microphone can be made available for speeches once we have completed our setup.
There is no charge for this service. However, depending on your timings we may need to setup earlier which might incur an extra cost.
Wedding Price Guide
Prices are for guidance only and are subject to seasonal variation. ¹An early setup fee will be charged if you require the equipment to be setup more than 2 hours prior to the start time of the disco or background music. ²Continuation service is subject to licensing laws and approval from the venue management. The fee and amount of time requested must be agreed with the DJ on the night. ³A radio microphone can be made available for speeches once setup is complete. *Venue restrictions may apply.
