Will it make the floor slippery?

Possibly.

Some floor surfaces may become slippery while others may not become slippery at all. We use a professional ‘dry liquid’ solution designed to help minimise the risk of slipping.

During operation we closely monitor the conditions and limit use where necessary.

Is it messy?

No.

A bubble machine will not be messy if used in moderation. Use it too much however and it may leave a sticky residue after use.

Is it noisy?

No.

There are two fairly high powered fans used to produce and project the bubbles from the machine, but they are not very loud. Under disco conditions this is not an issue at all.

Will it be on all the time?

No.

Although most bubble machines are able to operate continuously with only occasional fluid top-ups, we generally only use bubble machines for short periods of time for indoor events. This primarily ensures the floor surface doesn’t become slippery. But also, with hundreds of bubbles around you all the time the novelty would quickly wear off – probably!

Complete quality karaoke service

Simply add karaoke hire to your disco booking and we’ll supply everything you need to enjoy a professional karaoke experience at your party or event.

Karaoke is the chance for you and your guests to sing along, either individually or in small groups, to your favourite songs on our professional sound system.

We play a special version of the song that only has the music and backing vocals leaving you to sing the lead vocals. Don’t worry about remembering all the words as they are displayed on a screen in time with the music.

We can even apply a little re-verb to your voice – just like the professionals.

We include smaller throw-out style prizes and a selection of bigger prizes or prize packs for the competition winners. We will supply a range of quality prizes suitable for the age group of the boys and girls at your party.

You are welcome to supply your own prizes. Or, if you would prefer, we can run the party with no prizes at all – the choice is yours.

How many prizes do you provide?

About 10.

The actual number of prizes may vary from party to party depending on the number of games played etc.

Are they suitable for the age group?

Yes.

We’ll bring a large variety of prizes with us some are suitable for older children and some for younger children, so we’ll always have something appropriate for all ages at the party.

Do we have to have prizes?

No.

We can run a children’s disco with no prizes. Although there are some games we wouldn’t be able to use as the prize is a part of the game itself.

However, if we have prizes it adds even more incentive for the children to join in the games and competitions. And, we all know kids love to win prizes!

Can I supply our own prizes?

Of course!

It’s up to you how many or what you supply.

However, we usually advise around 10-15 main prizes and some smaller ‘throw-out’ style prizes too. This works well with the games we provide.

Primarily used at school discos, children’s parties and over the Christmas period, snow machines are a very popular and spectacular effect. Depending on which machine you hire, the size and amount of ‘snow flakes’ can be adjusted to suit your needs.

The snow jets out up to about 10 meters and falls just like snow to the floor or on top of whoever is in range, leaving a coating of the white fluffy stuff.

Technically these machines are actually specialised foam machines which are designed to defuse a jet of water based, fast drying foam to create a very exciting snow fall or blizzard like effect that both kids and adults love.

Although this sounds very messy, it leaves no mess at all. After just a few minutes all the ‘snow’ evaporates, leaving nothing to clear up. Perfect!

What is a UV party?

Amazing!

UV or glow parties are created by flood lighting ultraviolet (UV) light in a dark room. Humans can’t see UV light so the room still appears dark. But we can see the effects of UV light when it reflects off neon or fluorescent clothing, face paints and accessories which will glow brightly to create an awesome effect.

For UV lighting to work well you’ll need 3 things:

Ultraviolet (UV) lighting (also known as Black Light)
A dark room
Fluorescent (or neon) materials such as clothing, paints, accessories etc.

Add these to any party and the overall effect is to create a stunning, surreal atmosphere in which to party!

How does UV work?

Ready for the science?!

Most ultraviolet (UV) light is invisible to the human eye, even a very bright UV light will only appear as a relatively dim violet or purple glow from the UV light source. This is how the name ‘black light’ came about.

Some materials can absorb the energy from a UV light and reflect, or rather, re-emit the light energy. This process is know as fluorescence. Because some energy is lost during this process the emission of light is of a longer wavelength, bringing it into the spectrum of light we can see, which makes the material seem to glow in the dark.

Is it safe?

Yes.

UV lamps used in disco lighting are only just inside the UV spectrum with a wavelength of around 400nm. This is the safest of the UV light and the closest to what humans can see. We wouldn’t recommend staring at the UV light source for long periods of time in the same way we wouldn’t recommend staring at any light source.
